Bruce's Market in Bland, VA is listed as selling alcohol by the ounce. At least according to the clerk who checked me out when I shopped there this past Sunday, they do not.

I was able to buy a container of yellow Heet at the Citgo.

I just called to confirm this, and it wasn't just one clerk; the manager said that they do NOT have fuel by the ounce. In the fall they said they planned to add this service to help out hikers. Good intentions don't always materialize, but I still consider it a hiker friendly store well stocked with food items.
