A few weeks back, the "Parks and Regulations" group was added. Feel free to add what you wish about special guidelines that apply within the parks through which the AT passes.
More recently, the "Hikes" forum was added to provide a place to talk about hiking on any stretch of the AT. Say anything you want about the trail - it was hard, easy, rocky, rainy, well-maintained or overgrown. Don't feel obliged to cover it in detail. You might want to simply say where you hiked or point us to recently uploaded pics for the section.
A week ago I hiked some sections between Erwin and Damascus. This section includes most of the total AT mileage increases due to reroutes. I plan to post info about these sections and what landmarks they contain as soon as I can assemble the data.
The Photo section now has a category for "Trees, Wildflowers and Plants," which is meant to contain exactly what you'd expect. During my hikes I often take pictures of such things, and I felt that a new category would help us to keep photos organized, and perhaps we can create a repository of photos large enough to be a resource for those who'd like to identify the flora that they see along the trail.
