The perforation in the 2009 book is deeper into the binding than it was in 2008, so it takes care to rip out the pages. The book is designed with small margins, so that print covers most of the page and keeps the page count down. This gives the printer and binder very little leeway, making it hard to move the perforation out any further.

I've observed that most hikers keep the full book intact. For those that want to carry sections, maybe having the unbound book option is adequate, and we can drop the perforations.

Any opinions on this?

I think you meant than the 2008, right?:)

I will keep the book intact.
As I mentioned to you earlier this evening, the book is useful to make daily notes in as well. This time around I will only be taking a pen and maybe a small note pad, no electronic journaling device.

I will also keep the book intact and carry a small notebook (a steno pad works well) for note taking/journaling.

Hi,

I have another suggestion as I just wanted to print an article but when I printed it the readability was pretty bad, I couldnt read the yellow on white very well... So maybe, I dont know if its a good idea, could you make printerfriendly pages, so its easyer to print some of the nice articles of this website :-
